Rippledown House

In January 2019 we opened our doors in a self-contained wing of Cliftonville Community Centre, Margate, which enabled our then small community, to live and learn until March 2020. During the pandemic, we found a perfect home at Buckland House in Dover to serve our growing community and we were so excited to finally have the inside space we so desperately needed. Although our inside needs were well and truly met, the dream of having space outside where our students and staff could be free and at one with nature and the environment wasn’t realised…until now! Rippledown House and grounds in Ringwould near Deal is the forever home we dreamt of during our founding stages of EKS.

Moving to Rippledown has afforded us the space we always dreamt to provide for our students many interests and activities. We now have dedicated spaces for particular interests such as a library, art room, music area, computer room, maths and science space, a space for woodwork and quiet study etc, as well as spaces dedicated to socialising and play. Most excitingly the grounds at Rippledown are perfect for play, sports, forest school and outdoor learning activities, as well as ecological and environmental exploration with dipping ponds and nature areas. Like most things at East Kent Sudbury, the exact nature of each space is constantly in flux as the community responds to the needs and wishes of its members.
