In January 2019 we opened our doors in a self-contained wing of Cliftonville Community Centre, Margate, which served as the stage for our community to live and learn until March 2020. The search for a long term home for EKS has proved to be one of our biggest challenges and we are so grateful to Cliftonville Community Centre for giving us our first home and helping us to get going, but we never stopped searching for the perfect long term home. Following the COVID-19 pandemic we could no longer continue in a shared building and so the urgency to find our own home increased and finally that search is over. We’ve found our dream home!

We are so excited to announce that from September 2020 we will be in our own building – Buckland House in River, just outside Dover. The listed building is full of period character, light, bright and has all the space we were looking for to accommodate our student’s various interests and needs. Most recently used as a small school, it’s all ready for our use with a playground and student toilets. We can’t wait to start rearranging furniture and putting pictures on the walls.

This will also be a new chapter for us and an opportunity to explore a new area. We’re looking forward to country walks and castle adventures over the coming weeks and months.

Look out in the coming weeks for more photos and a virtual tour of our new space. If you’d like to know more about East Kent Sudbury or what this move will mean for us, get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.

  1. Hello, this looks incredible and really interesting. Do you have spaces for september 2021? For a five year old and a seven year old two days per week. Thank you.

    1. Hi Emily, Thanks so much for the message. We do have a few spaces remaining for September, but we are open 3 days a week and don’t take students for less days. Partly because it would be too complicated with spaces but also because of how important the consistency and commitment to the community is to us. Drop us an email from the contact page if you’d like to know more.
